There have been rumors that King Charles had an affair with Sheila Ferguson, the middle singer of The Three Degrees. However, neither Ferguson nor Charles have ever confirmed or denied these rumors. Ferguson has said that she and Charles were friends, but that there was never anything romantic between them. Charles has also said that he and Ferguson were friends, but that he has "never commented on rumors about my private life."
The Three Degrees is an American female vocal group, which was originally formed in 1965 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The original members were Fayette Pinkney, Shirley Porter and Linda Turner. Porter and Turner were soon replaced by Janet Harmon and Helen Scott. The line-up from 1967 to 1976 was Pinkney, Valerie Holiday and Sheila Ferguson, who would go on to sing lead on most of the group's biggest hits.
